Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism.
TCRC contracts with the State of California to provide supports and services for children and adults with developmental disabilities living in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.

Local health and human service provider information is organized for easy access at a website dedicated to providing self-help information and referrals. Resources are updated regularly.
To promote lifelong access and opportunity for all individuals within the autism spectrum and their families to be fully included members of the community. We achieve this through education, advocacy, the promotion of research, increasing public awareness and collaboration with other agencies.
The Ventura County SELPA is responsible for the implementation of the Ventura County Special Education Local Plan, and insuring a free appropriate public education to all students with identified disabilities according to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and California Laws and Regulations.
